Steve Blake playing well for the Nuggets

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 2:57 pm

Steve Blake is playing the best basketball of his NBA career as of late.  In his last 6 games (5 starts) he has averaged 11.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.  He also has been really shooting well from long range as he’s hit 15 of his last 34 three-point shot attempts which is 44.1%.  If he can keep up this level of play he will stay in the starting lineup for the Nuggets.

The Grizzlies never had a chance in this game tonight!  Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Nuggets with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.  Allen Iverson also had a solid all-around game with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists.  Marcus Camby had a stat sheet stuffer with 17 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.

The Nuggets improved to 21-17 on the season with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270122007

Time for the Nuggets to take off

Blogged under Big Nuggets News, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 22 January 2007 at 11:43 am

Tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies will be the first chance to see the real new-look Nuggets.  Carmelo Anthony returns from his suspension and Denver should be flying high.  Anthony has averaged 31.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season.  Many think that Anthony and Iverson will not mix well, but I’m not one of those.  I think Iverson cares more than winning than his personal stats….or he would have just stayed in Philly and put up huge numbers.  Look out NBA!

The Nuggets closed with a huge rush in this game as they outscored the Rockets 44-27 in the 4th quarter + the overtime period and that’s why they won this game.  Allen Iverson had a monster game with 36 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals.  J.R. Smith added 24 points and hit 6 of his 9 3-point attempts!  Marcus Camby was awesome in the paint with 12 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

The Nuggets improved to 20-17 with this huge win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270120010

Nuggets ride big first half to 110-99 win over the Cavaliers in Denver

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 20 January 2007 at 11:46 am

The Nuggets raced out to a 64-45 first half lead and then cruised to a victory last night.  They played really well on offense the whole game as they shot 50.6% from the floor as a team and that was a big key to the victory last night.  Marcus Camby had a great night with 26 points and 17 rebounds.  Allen Iverson also had a good night with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists.

The Nuggets improved to 19-17 on the season with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270119007
