The Nuggets lose again 114-112 in OT to the Hornets in Denver

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 8 February 2007 at 9:32 am

The Nuggets had a hard time getting rebounds and the Hornets edged them 57-46.  Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Nuggets with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.  Allen Iverson also had a decent game with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists.  Nene Hilario was tough around the basket with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

The Nuggets having a rough time this season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 12:23 pm

The Nuggets are sitting at 23-23 on the season and they have to be disappointed.  They figured that Allen Iverson was the missing piece for a deep playoff run for the Nuggets, but, Iverson and Carmelo Anthony haven’t really had time to jell as a unit yet and that’s hurt the team’s overall performance.  The Nuggets are currently the #8 seed for the playoffs, but they are only 1.5 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors for that spot.  The Nuggets are having defensive problems this season as they are allowing 103.7 points per game which is 27th in the NBA.  It will be hard to improve the defense because Marcus Camby is the only good defensive player on the whole Nuggets roster.  The Nuggets also have to play better in close games and they are 1-4 in games decided by three points or less.

The Nuggets can’t keep up with the Suns and lose 113-108 in Denver

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 1:30 am

The Nuggets lost this game despite the facts that the Suns were without Steve Nash in the second half (due to injury) and the Nuggets outrebounded the Suns 48-38!  Carmelo Anthony scored a triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.  Nene Hilario had a fantastic game too with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.  J.R. Smith had a good game off the bench with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Nuggets lay a lot of bricks in 94-87 loss to the Kings in Sacramento

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 4 February 2007 at 12:52 am

The Nuggets only shot 38.1% from the floor and lose despite outrebounding the Kings 61-45!  Carmelo Anthony was the main offender as he only made 7 of 25 shots from the floor.  He wound up with 20 points and 7 rebounds.  Nene Hilario had a solid game with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Nuggets’ rookie not playing well

Blogged under Rookie Reports, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 3 February 2007 at 6:55 pm

Rookie shooting guard Yakhouba Diawara has not played well for the Nuggets this season and he could start to see less minutes on the court when the Nuggets get healthy.  Diawara has played in 42 games and is averaging 21.4 minutes, 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.  The problem with Diawara is his shot selection which is very poor.  He’s only hitting 34% of his shots from the floor!  He should quit shooting three-pointers for awhile because he can’t make them.  He has only made 40 of 146 three point attempts which is only good for 27.4%.
