The Denver Nuggets have signed point guard Chucky Atkins to a 2-year, $6.6 million dollar contract with the option for a third season.  Atkins will take over for Steve Blake as the starting point guard on the Nuggets.  He is a shoot first kind of point guard so it will be interesting to see how he blends in with Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.  Atkins has played in 75 games (23 starts) last season with the Grizzlies and he averaged 13.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists per game.  He is a pretty decent shooter as he hit 43.4% from the floor, 37.9% from three point range and 81% from the free throw line.

Atkins has now played in 599 games (314 starts) and he has averaged 26.5 minutes, 10.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.  He has shot 41.7% from the floor, 37% from three point range and 76.9% from the free throw line over his career so far.
