The Denver Nuggets acquire Malik Allen from the Bucks
The Denver Nuggets have acquired 31-year old power forward Malik Allen from the Bucks for 23-year old power forward Walter Sharpe and 23-year old shooting guard Sonny Weems. Allen played in 49 games (3 starts) for the Bucks last season and he averaged 11.8 minutes, 3.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He has now played in 409 games (122 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 16.2 minutes, 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Allen should provide some muscle off the bench for the Nuggets during the 2009-2010 NBA season. Walter Sharpe was recently acquired from the Pistons but he didn’t show much for them as a rookie last season averaging only 1.0 point and 0.4 rebounds per game. Sonny Weems played in 12 games (0 starts) as a rookie for the Nuggets last season and he averaged 4.6 minutes, 1.6 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. This was another good trade for the Nuggets as Allen should give them some solid minutes off the bench.
