Denver Nuggets 90, Chicago Bulls 89

Blogged under NBA Blogs, Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Big Nuggets News by Andrew on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 11:48 pm

The Denver Nuggets (6-2) squeezed out a win against the Chicago Bulls (4-3) on the road Tuesday night.  It looked like the Nuggets may have fell victim to the Bulls and Brad Miller’s shot with 0.3 seconds, but after a long review the refs ruled the ball was still on his fingertips and the shot was no good.  This was one of the closest replays I have seen in an NBA game, and I honestly could not tell if Miller got the ball off or not.  The Nuggets got the benefit of the doubt though and came away with the victory.  Chauncey Billups put the Nuggets ahead with 0.6 seconds on a free throw, and then missed the second free throw to burn out the clock.  The Bulls were able to rebound and call a timeout with 0.3 seconds to set up the last second drama with Miller’s shot.

Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Nuggets, finishing with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Melo did not shot very well from the field though, as the Bulls have a healthy Luol Deng this year and he did a pretty good job guarding Anthony.  He finished 8-22, had his shot blocked 5 times and had 4 turnovers.  He hit some key shots down the stretch though and did enough to win the game.  Billups added 17 points, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds along with his clutch game winning free throw.  The Nuggets also got a good game out of Kenyon Martin, who had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 block.  Nene added a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.  The Nuggets take on the Milwaukee Bucks on the road Wednesday night.

That was a amazing shot by Brad Miller but the Nuggets lucked out and stole a game from the Bulls. This was a great basketball game to watch and it was a huge road win for the Nuggets.
