Game #5: Oklahoma City Thunder 100, Denver Nuggets 97

The Nuggets played hard last night but they were outscored 28-21 in the 4th quarter and it did them in. Arron Afflalo led the way for the Nuggets last night with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Kenyon Martin was really solid last night for the Nuggets with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Ty Lawson (13 points), Raymond Felton (13 points) and Danilo Gallinari (11 points) also pitched in for the Nuggets last night. The Nuggets fought the Thunder hard before falling 4-1 in this series.

Starting center Nene Hilario is really stepping up against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs. He has played in 4 games (all starts) for the Nuggets so far this year and he is averaging 32.8 minutes, 15.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 blocked shot per game. He is shooting 51.4% from the floor as he is matching up pretty well against Kendrick Perkins and Nazr Mohammed in this series. The Nuggets need Nene to keep up the good work if they are going to have any chance of making a big comeback in this series.

The Nuggets only shot 38.6% from the floor last night and they were outrebounded 50-44, but they won anyway as they showed a lot of heart in this game. Ty Lawson led the way for the Nuggets last night with 27 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Danilo Gallinari (18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal) and J.R. Smith (15 points and 2 rebounds in 24 minutes on the floor) also had very solid games for the Nuggets last night. Kenyon Martin (13 points, 9 rebounds), Raymond Felton (11 points) and Nene (10 points, 9 rebounds) also pitched in for the Nuggets last night. The Nuggets are still alive in this series but they are still down 3-1.

The Nuggets only shot 37.2% from the floor and it killed them last night. They were outscored 26-21 in the 4th quarter and that was the difference in a very hard fought loss. Kenyon Martin (15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot), Nene (15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots) and J.R. Smith (15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in only 14 minutes) led the way for the Nuggets in this game. Arron Afflalo and Chris Andersen pitched in with 13 points apiece in this game. The Nuggets are now down 3-0 to the Thunder in this series.

Game #2: Oklahoma City Thunder 106, Denver Nuggets 89

The Nuggets got drilled by the Thunder last night. They were outrebounded 54-31 last night and they only shot 39.1% from the floor and it’s almost impossible to win that way. Ty Lawson led the way for the Nuggets last night with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Nene only shot 2 of 8 from the floor but he finished up with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal last night. Raymond Felton (16 points and 2 assists) and Al Harrington (15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists) also had decent games for the Nuggets last night. The Nuggets are now 0-2 in this series as it shifts to Denver for the weekend.
