Wilson Chandler leaves the Denver Nuggets for China
24-year old SG/SF Wilson Chandler has signed a 1-year deal to play ball in China. This will mean that even if the lockout ends, Chandler will have to stay in China until their season ends in March. Chandler will then come back to the NBA as a restricted free agent, giving the Nuggets a chance to match any offer he gets. Chandler played in 21 games (19 starts) for the Nuggets after coming over in the Carmelo Anthony deal and he averaged 30.6 minutes, 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. Chandler played in 72 games (49 starts) overall last year for the Knicks & Nuggets and he averaged 33.3 minutes, 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 blocked shots per game. He has now played in 254 games (199 starts) in his first four years in the NBA and he is averaging 32.1 minutes, 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. This could wind up being a big blow for the Nuggets in 2011-12.
