Gary Forbes is looking good for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 4:17 pm

25-year old undrafted SF/SG Gary Forbes is off to a good start for the Nuggets. He has played in 8 games (2 starts) for the Nuggets so far this year and he is averaging 16.0 minutes, 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Forbes is shooting 51.9% from the floor and 61.5% (8 of 13) from three point range so far this year. He is playing so well that he’s cutting into J.R. Smith’s playing time and it will continue as long as Forbes keeps playing well.

Ty Lawson had a good rookie season for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 16 April 2010 at 8:38 am

22-year old point guard Ty Lawson did a great job as a rookie for the Nuggets. He seemed to learn a lot from starting point guard Chauncey Billups who he will eventually replace down the road. Lawson played in 65 games (8 starts) for the Nuggets this year and he averaged 20.2 minutes, 8.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He also shot well from everywhere on the court hitting 51.5% from the floor, 41% from three point range and 75.7% from the free throw line. The Nuggets need Lawson to play well during the playoffs as they are going to need all hands on the deck.

Ty Lawson is still playing well for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 24 February 2010 at 9:55 pm

The Nuggets don’t have a lot of available minutes for rookie Ty Lawson but he’s making the most of them. Lawson has played in 52 games (8 starts) for the Nuggets this season and he is averaging 22.0 minutes, 9.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Lawson is shooting 51.3% from the floor and 42.9% from three point range so far this season which is outstanding. He will likely be a starter down the road for the Nuggets but his job for the rest of the year is to provide offense off the bench.

Ty Lawson has been very solid so far this season for the Denver Nuggets

Rookie point guard Ty Lawson is learning the ropes from Chauncey Billups this season and it’s happening pretty darn quick. Lawson has played in 35 games (7 starts) for the Nuggets so far this season and he is averaging 22.6 minutes, 9.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Lawson is also shooting the lights out this year hitting 51.5% from the floor and 44.2% from three point range this season. The Nuggets have to be ecstatic to have gotten Lawson in a draft day trade last June as he will be a starter down the road for them.

Ty Lawson is playing great for a rookie

Many people said Ty Lawson was too short for the NBA…those people were dead wrong.  Lawson’s incredible speed has wreaked havoc on defenses in the NBA, just like it did while he was at the University of North Carolina.  Lawson doesn’t get a ton of minutes, but he makes a lot happen in the playing time he gets.  He has been a nice addition for this loaded Nuggets team, but where does he rank among the other elite rookies?  Find out here at my list of the Top Rookies in the NBA so far.
