23-year old small forward Danilo Gallinari is stepping up his game for the Nuggets this year. He has played in 20 games (all starts) for the Knicks so far this year and he is averaging 34.3 minutes, 17.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Gallinari was part of the return for Carmelo Anthony and he has replaced him in the starting lineup. Gallinari is the leading scorer for the Nuggets and that isn’t likely to change any time soon as they are playing great “team” basketball both offensively and defensively so far this year.

Andre Miller has been really solid for the Denver Nuggets so far this year

35-year old point guard Andre Miller is playing at a very high level for the Nuggets so far this year. He has played in 18 games (3 starts) for the Nuggets so far this year and he is averaging 29.8 minutes, 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Despite playing behind Ty Lawson at the point, Miller is still leading the Nuggets in assists. Miller has always been a pass first point guard and the offense seems to really click when he’s on the basketball court. Head Coach George Karl is getting the best out of his point guards in 2011-12 so far.

Danilo Gallinari is off to a solid start for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 9 January 2012 at 3:57 pm

23-year old small forward Danilo Gallinari is doing a solid job for the Nuggets so far this year. He has played in 9 games (all starts) for the Nuggets so far this year and he is averaging 33.3 minutes, 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He is only shooting 10 of 41 (24.4%) from three point range, so maybe he should give up the long range bombing for a while until he starts improving in that area. That being said, Gallinari has been a big reason why the Nuggets are off to such a good start this year.

Al Harrington has been bringing it off the bench for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 4 January 2012 at 7:03 pm

31-year old forward Al Harrington has been the Nuggets’ best bench player so far this year. He has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Nuggets so far this year and he is averaging 26.3 minutes, 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Harrington has really been filling it up off the bench for the Nuggets so far this year as he is the #2 scorer on the team, behind only Kyle Lowry. The Nuggets hope that Harrington keeps up the good work.

Ty Lawson improved in his second year with the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 25 May 2011 at 4:42 pm

23-year old point guard Ty Lawson finally got to really show what he could do for the Nuggets in 2010-11. After the Carmelo Anthony deal, the Nuggets inserted Lawson into the starting lineup in Chauncey Billups’ old slot at the point. Lawson played in 80 games (31 starts) for the Nuggets last year and he averaged 26.3 minutes, 11.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Lawson has now played in 145 games (39 starts) in his first two years with the Nuggets and he has averaged 23.6 minutes, 10.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He has shot well from everywhere on the court so far in his career as he is hitting 50.7% from the floor, 40.6% from three point range and 76.2% from the free throw line so far in his NBA career. Look for Lawson to really put up impressive numbers in 2011-12 as the starting point guard from Day #1.
