Linas Kleiza and Kenyon Martin are steppin’ up for the Denver Nuggets

Linas Kleiza has really played well this season with his increased playing time. Kleiza has played in 30 games this season for the Nuggets and he is averaging 22.6 minutes, 10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Look for him to see even more minutes soon if he keeps playing like he is right now. Kenyon Martin appears to be healthy and Coach Karl is doing a good job of limiting his minutes on the court. Martin has played in 25 games this season for the Nuggets and he is averaging 9.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocked shots per game.

A couple of players are really stepping up for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 12 December 2007 at 12:16 am

Allen Iverson and Kenyon Martin are stepping up in December for the Nuggets. Iverson has played in 4 games this month and he is averaging 43.0 minutes, 32.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Iverson even dropped 51 points on the Lakers earlier this month. Kenyon Martin seems to be getting close to 100% as he has been outstanding this month. Martin has played in 4 games this month and he is averaging 32.8 minutes, 16.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. If Martin stays healthy and keeps playing at a high level the Nuggets are going to be hard to beat.

After ending last season in George Karl’s Doghouse, J.R. Smith has rehabbed his image and he’s played outstanding off of the bench for the Nuggets. He has played in 15 games this season for the Nuggets and he’s averaging 22.8 minutes, 11.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Smith will likely work his way into the starting lineup as long as he keeps playing as well as he is right now.

Marcus Camby is off to an incredible start to the season for the Denver Nuggets. He has played in 15 games so far this season and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 9.6 points, 14.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.5 blocks per game. His energy at both ends of the court infects the Nuggets. They need him to stay healthy this season if they want to go far.

Carmelo Anthony continues to improve for the Denver Nuggets

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 28 May 2007 at 4:41 pm

Carmelo Anthony keeps improving every season as a basketball player and it shows in his numbers.  He only played in 65 games last season (because of the suspension due to the fight with the Knicks) and he averaged 38.2 minutes, 28.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  He shot well from both the floor (47.6%) and the free throw line (80.8%).  But, he should could shooting 3’s as he only hit 26.8% of them.

Anthony’s career numbers keep spiking upward as his overall game continues to improve.  In 302 games, Anthony has averaged 24.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game over his career.  His FG % is now 45.5% for his career and his free throw % now sits at 79.8%.  Still, Anthony should let his teammates shoot the 3-pointers as he’s only hit 27.9% over his career.  Look for Anthony’s career numbers to continue to improve.
